Who was she?

Who was she walking alone on a stormy night? Who was she wearing a faded old gown and carring an umbrella? Who was she with long, straight hair walking, and walking, and walking? She was shivering and shuddering in the rain yet she still continued to walk......Why did she do it? Who was she? Why were her cheeks damp, not only because of rain, but tears........Why were here clothes ragged and tattered? Why isn't  she taking a shelter under the trees or the huge mansion behind her? What is in that mansion? Why is she turning towards the mansion? Why does fear flash on her face whenever she looks there? What are these marks on her feverish dirty white skin? Her clothes are fancy but ragged? Why? Is she rich or poor? What has happened? Rape? Thrown out of the property by a relative? fraud? Is that mansion haunted? Then what is she doing there? Why are her shoes worn out? Why does she looks so feeble? Why are her eyes wide with fear?
